Sunny Hill Ice Cream

Address: 3rd Mile Rock Road, Kuching

This ice cream shop has long history in Kuching. It is Kuchingnites' favourite place for soft ice cream in noon time.

They have a few selections: banana boat, ice cream sandwich (they use wholemeal bread), ice cream with peanuts, float and cone. Majority of the customers would go for ice cream peanuts. You can mix different flavors of ice cream. Vanilla, chocolate, you may also have panda and strawberry flavors, depends on their availability.

F4 Fish Head at USJ Subang Jaya 陈秀莲蒸鱼头

Address: Lot 776, Sub Lot 3, Jalan Subang 4, Subang Jaya Industrial Park, 4700 Subang Jaya, Selangor.

I googled place for dinner at Subang Jaya and found this place has been greatly recommended by bloggers in KL. So my friend and I decided to give it a try. With the use of GPS, we reached the place without much difficulties except the slight traffic jam after office hours in that area.

We were quite early that day. The friendly waitress came to take order for us. We asked for her recommendation. As we were not keen on curry, we went for ginger fish head instead. And one vegetable dish, sweet potato leaves. As we were thinking to order one more dish, the waitress stopped us because the fish head is big in size. Oh, so considerate. She really saved us from wastage. After the meal, we both were so bloated and near to vomit stage.

I am a ginger lover. This fish head is full of thick ginger paste so it is quite spicy in taste. But the spiciness is just nice.

The bill total up RM60, including one coconut and liang teh. Quite reasonable because the fish is fresh and HUGE.

Cherry Blossom Episode 3: Kyoto (Yasaka Shrine & Terimachi Shopping Arcade)

As the day was getting darker, Yasaka Shrine was our last sightseeing destination.

We didn't spend much time at Yasaka Shrine. But there had many food stalls in the garden. It was fun, though we didn't buy any.

After Yasaka Shrine, we arrived at Terimachi Shopping Arcade. We were tired of walking actually. Just walked a few streets and snapshot some pictures.

This temple is located inside the shopping arcade, named Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine

Cherry Blossom Episode 3: Kyoto (Heian Shrine)

Heian Shrine wasn't in my list initially. We were on the bus and when about reaching the bus stop, there were many tourists getting down the bus. So we just followed the crowd. Walked about 10 mins, we saw Heian Shrine's Torri Gate.

We bought the entrance ticket 600 yen to visit the garden. Was hopeful to see more cherry blossom in Kyoto. The garden's most striking feature is its weeping cherry trees.

As the cherry blossom bloomed earlier, the cherry trees were not so attractive anymore on the 4th day of our trip.

Childhood Memory, The Snacks

Weeks ago, I passed by this kedai runcit (grocery store) at Kenyalang in Kuching. Saw these snack packs that made me recall of my childhood memories. When I was a kid, I begged mum to buy me this snack pack but usually I would get 'no' as an answer. A pack of these were expensive, which deemed as 'luxury' snacks for kids in our time. It had a misery gift (different toys each pack), usually comes along with a pack of chocolate coated balls. I missed it. Therefore I bought all of them home.

Opened up. I had a huge disappointment. No more chocolate coated balls?! It was replaced with candies. That's so cheap, how much a candy can cost? A RM3 pack contains only 4 nos. of jelly and a rubber bracelet. What a rip-off! So sad to see how the inflation affects every area in our life.

Cherry Blossom Episode 3: Kyoto (Ginkakuji)

After Kinkakuji, Ginkakuji was our next destination. We were here also for Tetsugaku No Michi 哲学之道. One of the famous cherry blossom places in Kyoto.

The starting point of Tetsugaku No Michi 哲学之道 and Ginkakuji Temple is at the end of this straight path. It was about the end of cherry blossom season, the petals were a lot more less and made the trees look rather bald.
